Last night, I was chatting with my best friend, Ana. That isn't really something unusual because we always chat whenever we can. What was strange and unusual about it was the numerous typographical errors we made that night. Apart from misspelled words, there were missing letters or excess letters or a combination of those. And though we repeatedly tried to correct them, they still end up coming out wrong. But never mind the errors, we still understood what the other was trying to say. It was just really funny and ironic at the same time because we were talking about something serious and we are trying to be serious (for a change).
Then she mentioned how funny and crazy we are, always finding the time to talk despite the distance and our work and everything else that is going on with our lives. It seems like we never run out of things to talk about. But that I am really thankful for, that there is always something to talk about, be it something so silly or mundane or crazy or serious or whatever, because that means we continue to appreciate each other and what the other has to share.
But aside from the sharing and the trust, the best thing I like about our chats is the constant presence of laughter. Maybe because we always make it a point to take things lightly, or at least we try to. Maybe because we have this knack for finding something funny in almost everything. Maybe because we are too shallow and easy to please. Maybe it's just our nature to say and do funny (or laughable?) things, it cannot be helped. Or maybe we are just two crazy people who were fated to cross each others path, deranged enough to end up as friends and still keep it going despite the insanity of it all.
Looking back and musing at our lives from the start of our friendship til now... it's like a movie, a comedy to be more specific. Although it is full of highs and lows, suspense and drama, a little bit of action and adventure here and there, and overflowing tears... there is non-stop laughter everywhere. If it were a movie, I think it would be a hit! Hahahaha.
Hmmmm... should I start writing the script....???
