She Said "Yes"!

I am so thrilled! :D

A couple of days ago, my boyfriend told me that his best friend needed my help. My initial reaction was of anxiety because the first thing that came to my mind was that something bad happened! Oh, well, that's good old pessimistic me.

Luckily, I was wrong and I could not stop laughing when I found out what kind of help he needed from me... he wanted me to cook pork chop for him! Just a backgrounder, he was so impressed when he first tried my pork chop, which I served for dinner for my boyfriend and him. He actually thought I simply bought them as take-away dinner from a restaurant! From that day on he was all praises of my recipe, but actually there's really nothing special about it - it's just a simple, nothing-extraordinary kind of recipe... so you can imagine why I was laughing about it.

But then anxiety kicked back in again when I realized what it was really meant for. I knew he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend and somehow I had the feeling that the pork chop has something to do with that. Funny, right? Yeah, it's funny and this time "pessimistic me" was right.

He did have other ideas of how to go about with the proposal, but in the end for some reason or another he rejected them and decided to do it at his place, for more privacy and so that the girlfriend would not suspect anything.

And so, my boyfriend and I were in on the surprise and were asked (or tasked???) to help. The plan is... he would ask his girlfriend to come over to his place because he prepared dinner for her and then propose after dinner. I prepared the dinner for them, the pork chop as requested and some other stuff to go with it. I doubt if the girlfriend believed it was him who did it though, because he doesn't know how to cook. ;) My boyfriend helped him set up the house, the table, the music... it was kinda cute and romantic. And since that night is for them, after setting up everything we immediately disappeared to (try to) make the story "that the boyfriend did all these for the girl" believable.

It was a bit tiring and stressful because I've never done anything like this before and it was done on such a short notice and I was worried if my pork chop would live up to the expectation. Surprisingly though, I actually had fun and was very excited to know about the outcome but I had to contain my excitement and be a little bit more patient. Then about half an hour past midnight I got this message, "She said yes! Thanks a lot guys."

That is the reason why I am so thrilled. :)

And though I am very sure it's not the one that clinched that much-awaited "Yes", I'm feeling really proud of my pork chop right now! Hahaha! :)
