A friend shared a link today of this young man who stirred my heart not only with his singing, his life story as a young boy and what he has become now is truly remarkable and touching. I played the clip over and over again and I couldn't help getting teary-eyed. I wish I could help him carry his burdens especially when he was so very young. I do want to give him a hug...
It's amazing that after all the difficulties he went through in his life, and at a very young age, he never gave up. He survived the odds and he had the courage to follow his dream. No matter how harsh his growing-up years may be, he doesn't seem to have turned into a cold-hearted and angry person. In fact, he is polite, soft-spoken, passionate about his dream and humble. I can't help but smile when he says he doesn't sing well. :)
People like him make us realize how truly petty our complaints are. How lucky we are that we never had to go through what he had been through, some people might even be going through much worse. Let us all count our blessings for we do have many, we just do not realize it sometimes.
Choi Sung-bong, I wish you luck and may your life be blessed with the love and happiness you deserve. God bless you!

How To Be Alone
Just wanted to share with you a very enlightening piece that I've stumbled upon a few days ago. It talks about being alone and embracing it. It talks about the freedom and simple joys of being alone that most of the time we take for granted, if not resent. It gives us a different perspective, a positive one.

This was how we started...
It wasn't really love-at-first sight
I just thought, "Yeah, you're kinda nice.."
Then one day we were stuck with each other
And guess what, we decided to have dinner!

What I Don't See
The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower,
share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's,
smile at someone and receive a smile in return,
are to me continual spiritual exercises.

Today My Life Begins!
I'm sooooooo lovin' this song! :) The tune is upbeat and catchy. The lyrics, so simple and so true. I could just relate to the song so easily, like it was written especially for me!
Yes, my life begins today. The past is past and the future is yet to come, so I'm gonna live my life today because this day will only come once in my life. ;)

Hello 2011!
It's almost a month late but... what the heck?! Hello 2011! :)
I've been meaning to write an entry after my trip to Syria but blame it on procrastination... well, ok blame it all on me for procrastinating, I didn't get anything done. Hehehe. Now I'm not so sure if I'm gonna write at all about that trip, it seems so far behind already... and now it's a brand new year and there's a lot to look forward to! :)
